William Palmer Jones 16673

This 20-bore boxlock ejector gun has three sets of barrels.  One original 29 1/4" nitro barrels, rib engraved 'W. PALMER JONES. MAKER. BIRMINGHAM.' with 2 3/4" chambers, bored approximately 1/4 and 1/2 choke.  A second original are 28" nitro barrels with 2 1/2" chambers, bored approx true cyl and 1/4 choke.  The third set of barrels are 28" nitro (proof date 1953), with rib engraved 'W. PALMER JOENS. MAKER. BIRMINGHAM.' with 2 3/4" chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke.  Gun has treble-grip action with square section crossbolt, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, bold acanthus scroll engraving, retaining some colour-hardening.  Stock is 14 5/8" including buttplate.  Weight is 5 lb 12 oz with 29 1/2" barrels, 5 lb 10 oz with 28" barrels and 5 lb 13 oz with 1953 barrels.  Included is a brass-cornered leather case with provision for all sets of barrels.
